Janice Kim has worked in the fields and intersection of education, psychology, corporate storytelling, and design thinking. She attended Harvard-Westlake, earned her B.A. in English from Wesleyan, and her M.A. in Psychology from Pepperdine. She joined the global leadership cohort of Vancouver’s THNK School of Creative Leadership to study social entrepreneurship and design thinking.
Ms. Kim has worked at several Los Angeles Independent Schools, spending nine years in Admissions, with seven summers spent developing and teaching elementary school enrichment curriculum. She counseled students on Chicago’s South Side and taught after-school literacy classes. She spent the pandemic helping students get caught up in Math, running two tutoring centers. Ms. Kim is trained in psychometric testing and specialized her graduate research on the neurological benefits of yoga and meditation, volunteering at UCLA’s Mindfulness Awareness Research Center.
After THNK, she launched a behavioral design consultancy practice merging design thinking and psychology to help clients navigate complex transitions and grow sustainable change. She also leveraged design thinking and storytelling skills to help global marketing departments hone a cohesive and cogent brand voice cross-culturally. Her work spanned the biotechnology, tech, education, behavioral health, media, and non-profit sectors.
For fun, she enjoys writing, reading, yoga, tennis, painting, cooking, hiking, and biking.
