Jenny Vasquez joined the Turning Point community in August 2020, in her previous role, she led the full recruitment and admissions cycle for the School of Film and Television at Loyola Marymount University.
Ms. Vasquez believes in the power of building authentic relationships and partnerships. As the manager of the Women in Entertainment Mentoring Program, she interviewed high-level executives and built partnerships with schools, entertainment studios, and talent agencies.
Her purpose is to make a larger impact through education. She has mentored and tutored students from elementary through graduate school and provided academic and socio-emotional support for foster youth. She is passionate about advocacy, empowerment, and elevating students, families, and individuals.
Ms. Vasquez values equity, diversity, and inclusion and supported the Civil Rights Project at UCLA and the White House Initiative on Education Excellence for Hispanics in Washington D.C. She is a lifelong learner, whose career started at an aerospace engineering company.
Ms. Vasquez holds a BA in Chicana/o Studies, Spanish, and Latin & Iberian Studies from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and an MA in Social Service Administration from the University of Chicago.
Born and raised in Los Angeles, she returned to be closer to her family. Ms. Vasquez enjoys traveling, reading, and exploring new children’s adventures with her son and husband.
