ADMISSIONS PROGRAM INFO SESSIONS

Our Info Sessions allow you to gain an understanding of Turning Point and discover the ways our elements ensure a balanced education for each child. This event, for parents and caregivers only, will last one hour and be followed by a 30-minute optional student-led campus tour. For additional information, please complete an inquiry form.

TASTE OF TURNING POINT | OPEN HOUSE

Join us as we open our vibrant classrooms so you can attend a rotation of classes with our dynamic faculty. Allow your child to explore the unique wonders of our program as they engage in active and integrative learning.

Two arrival times will allow us to accommodate the families of our youngest prospective students and those applying to our Middle School Division.

Parents/Caregivers and applicant children are both invited to attend. The event will last approximately 60 to 90 minutes. We will provide the time upon registration and further details closer to the event itself.

COMPLETE THE ONLINE APPLICATION

Submitting your inquiry opens access to an online Admissions portal where you can complete your application and register for events. We require a $150 non-refundable application fee for submission. For families applying for Tuition Assistance, if you require an application fee waiver, please contact our office.

IN-PERSON TOUR AND FAMILY CONVERSATION

The Family Conversation enables us to better acquaint ourselves with your child and family and allows us to understand the educational goals, values, and expectations you hold for your child. The conversation, paired with a campus tour, occurs in person and lasts approximately 80 minutes. All custodial parents/caregivers are required to attend so that we may honor the unique perspective of each family member. (Please note the tour and conversation are for primary adult parents/caregivers only).

STUDENT VISIT/ASSESSMENT

The Student Visit/Assessment allows our faculty to better get to know your child. Further details will be provided as you engage in the process. Assessments will occur during the school day or outside of regular school hours.

Submit Recommendations and School Records

Links to the forms required for application can be found in your admissions portal or on our website below. Please note that we must receive all recommendations and school records directly from your current school.

Forms are due between November 1, 2024, and January 10, 2025, to apply for the priority deadline. If you apply during our Rolling Admissions phase, we will coordinate timing with you. Please submit these forms to your child’s current school as early as possible to ensure timely receipt.

  • Preschool, Pre-K, and Kindergarten applicants enrolled in school or daycare are required to submit the Recommendation Form directly to our office. If the child attends a toddler group, a recommendation is not required but could be helpful in determining readiness. We welcome any supplemental information from childcare providers.
  • Applicants in Grades 1-4 must submit two full years of report cards plus the first marking period of the current school year (or any school records available). They are also required to submit a Teacher Recommendation Form from the current head teacher. Candidates from private schools must also submit the Administrative Recommendation form.
  • Grades 5-7 applicants must submit two full years of report cards plus the first marking period of the current school year (or any school records available). They are also required to submit two Teacher Recommendation Forms, preferably from a Math and an English teacher. If not separate teachers, you may submit one recommendation from the current teacher and one recommendation from the previous year’s teacher or another educator who knows the student. For candidates applying from private schools, the Administrative Recommendation form is also required.

Turning Point is actively working with families interested in applying for the 2025-26 school year. Inquiries for school years beyond 2025-26 are also welcome.

While our 2024-25 school year is already underway, our Rolling Admissions process allows Preschool and Pre-K families to inquire and apply at any point in the year (space availability pending).

To access the application form and receive other important Admissions reminders, please first complete an inquiry form. This will allow you to create a username and password for the application. You may use your login information to save your work and return to it.

If you have previously filled out an inquiry form and need to return to your online application, you may do so here.

Elements

Tuition Assistance

Turning Point is committed to providing Tuition Assistance to families who would not be able to attend without this support.

We encourage families who need assistance to apply concurrently with submitting their child’s Admissions application. Turning Point students receive Tuition Assistance with awards ranging from approximately 10-80% of tuition.

Families for whom Tuition Assistance would be a differentiating factor in attending Turning Point School’s Preschool-Grade 8 program should apply, as future funding may not be available to families that do not apply in their first year.

The Tuition Assistance Committee considers a range of factors when reviewing each family’s application, including income, assets, and liabilities. While there is no standard income guideline, families making less than $250,000 in annual income with one child may qualify for some Tuition Assistance. We cannot guarantee that all families who apply will qualify, or that our budget will meet the needs of all families who qualify, to receive tuition assistance.

Applications for Tuition Assistance for new families are available beginning in November. Families interested in the 2025-26 school year must apply by January 27, 2025, for consideration. Please contact the Admissions office for additional information.

If you need help completing your application, Clarity offers in-app support and email support at support@claritytuition.com in English and Spanish. The application itself is also fully translated into Spanish.

*Please note that the school has met its Tuition Assistance budget for the 2024-25 school year; as a result, Tuition Assistance is not available to those families applying on a rolling Admissions basis or during non-traditional entry points in the school year. Tuition Assistance is, however, available for Fall, 2025.

Our office is pleased to guide and support you through the full admissions process and you are welcome to call (310) 841-2505 x128, or email admissions@turningpointschool.org with any questions.
